Jumeirah Village Triangle (JVT) is a residential area in Dubai, covering an area of approximately 242 hectares. It is located between Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.
JVT was realised by Nakheel Properties and was first introduced in 2005. Construction began in 2004 when Nakheel acquired the land and began planning the area. The project was part of Dubai's ambitious plans to expand the emirate's residential neighbourhoods. By 2013, the bulk of Jumeirah Village Triangle's construction was completed.
The name Jumeirah Village Triangle reflects the geographical location and shape of the neighbourhood: ‘Jumeirah’ is associated with Dubai's prestigious coastal areas, while ‘Village Triangle’ refers to the triangular shape of the plot on which the neighbourhood is located. The unique triangular layout has been chosen to optimise the use of space.
